adorkdarkflyPlayer Spotlight - June 2021 - Sintara
[Image: LnMmroi.jpg]

Greetings everyone! We always say that the Community is the best thing about Prophecy!  Here is a chance to get to know one of our members, Sintara.

Main Character(s) Name(s): Zephyr/Sintara

Discord Handle: Sintara #9144

Player Association: NYTES

Where in the RL world do you live? Sunny state of Arizona

How long did you play the live version of Star wars galaxies? From 2 weeks after launch til NGE

What type of work do you do? Hospital Surgery Coordinator, now a SAHM.

What does a typical Star Wars Galaxies day consist of for you? I have many wheels turning at the same time but I am always focusing on creating events for my guild.  I feel that's the best way to experience this game is by grouping with your peeps.

What was the race and profession of your very first character? I had a Human Tailor.

What is the one thing you’ve always wanted to be/do in Star Wars Galaxies on live that you've done (or have yet to do here)? SPACE!  I wish I did a lot of space back then.  Heck, I wish I did a lot of space now! Smile

What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other than playing Star Wars Galaxies? Bowling and Golfing day with family, going out with my gal pals, Karaoke, Dancing and spending time with my little guy.

What race and profession is your main character? My main character is a Zabrak, Melee Spy

What do you like the most about the profession you have chosen for your main character?  I have always preferred Melee to range, and loved using polearm as my weapon. Oh! And sneaking up on peeps is always nice too! /wink

What faction is your main character? Imperial, always.

What is your favorite player owned ship? TIE Interceptor, for aesthetic reasons.

What is your favorite ground vehicle? RIC-920 Rickshaw, again, for aesthetic reasons.

How did you choose your main character's name? Like most, I wanted to have a unique name.  In 2003, I typed in “Sintara” on the internet and saw a lot of Frank Sinatra, but nothing spelled like Sintara, therefore I knew it was a good name that no one has taken before.

What is your favorite planet and/or city and why? The beach of Kaadara, Naboo is my favorite city  and planet.  It was prime real estate having a house by the beach on the Shadowfire server back in live, and I have so many good memories there.

What is your favorite NPC? In an NGE Server during Empire day, The Darth Vader that flies down to Theed and gets escorted to pick a player and gets a badge, he is my favorite.

What are the most credits you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters? If we're talking a singe item, 35Mil? I can't remember, but it's for a sith holo 4/5 waist pack.  I ain't grinding that @&%t Tongue but that's the Master Tailor in me talking, so I give props to the true Jedi of this game. /wink

What do you like best about SWG: Prophecy? I like Prophecy's unique feature of having the Star Wars Trading Card Game active.  I cross server play 5 different servers and they don't have that.  I also like what they have for their Beast Master here, but I have not tried that yet.  The best part of Prophecy is it's community and developers.  When I decided to start and build my guild here, I received much positive encouragement from them all.  I invited the developers to my discord, and Chavex joined our guild's Q&A session.  That's never happened to any other servers I have ever been in.  He learned of our tales and woes about SWG and is very open to suggestions to make Prophecy a better server for its players.

Describe your best experience playing Star Wars Galaxies.  It's so many little moments all wrapped up into one big bow of nostalgia.  I remembered making Sintara on Shadowfire.  I remember landing on C-net and seeing a sea of players and the chat box was going so fast, there was no way to really read it all.  I would get /tell's but did not know how to respond back.  There was no Wiki to help you out with what to do next.  Everything was done by trial and error and everyone was forced to depend on everyone else.  You didn't have 5 toons to help you out, so other players took care of you.  I remember my guild going to Dantooine to try out the “spin groups”.  I remember someone shouting 10K for Pickets!!! So everyone went to the mission terminal and grabbed missions for pickets.  By trial and error we got smart and started getting missions around the same direction, so that we didn't have to run/walk to our missions so far apart.  If your mission is 7k meters away, usually that meant it would take you about 7 minutes to get to your destination if you were on a swoop.  Imagine not having a swoop or vehicle to get you there and how long it took to get to your next group mission.  The SWG world to us was HUGE!  We would need to put a camp down in between fights to heal and bs, tell stories while we sit around the campfire.  I was only a novice tailor at that time, but I picked up novice dancer as well so I can be of use to my guild when we stop to camp and heal.  At the end of our run, they all gave me their hides for my tailor and I gave them loots they needed.

I also had a Master Doc toon on Wanderhome name Zephyr, whom I usually had parked in front of the Starport peddling 10k a med buff.  I was on dial up and I would sometimes lose connection while I have a long line of people.  They would wait for me to come back to the game.  Sometimes taking half an hour to get back, but they waited patiently, and always cheered to have me back.

Most importantly, I remember my friends.  Just to mention some, DJ Purplebunny from Canada who had a radio station we could listen to while base busting.  Gomah, known for the best armor you could ever get your hands on.  Gi'Dagoon, a Jedi Knight and owner of Lil Tokyo, the town that had the Imperial outpost from the destroyed Restuss event spawn directly inside his city, a strategic stronghold and the reason every big rebel guild tried to buy off, but thankfully didn't succeed.  Gi' later became my real life husband.  We dated in game and I remember him being hunted down by Bounty Hunters while having a picnic in the Corellia Agrilat Swamp. He destroyed a couple, and eventually just paid off the third so we could have some peace and quiet, lol.  I also went to people's wedding at the Capitol – Theed Palace, parties celebrating their new cities and guilds.  Every building was being used for roleplaying.  People made it the place that they wanted it to be.  This is just some of my favorite memories.  I have hundreds of fond memories of SWG, and I am so lucky to have experienced them. Even now, making new memories and knowing there are so many more to come, let fly!
